Biography
Attic Studio ready for NEOS 2024
Start 7th to 15th September, venue 21 at Peterhead.
Frances Innes lives in Aberdeenshire with husband. They have two grownup children. Frances has always drawn and painted - started exhibiting about 20 years ago. She is a member of Aberdeen Artists Society. Exhibiting in shows and galleries throughout the year in the north east of Scotland and more recently Edinburgh. See the diary for 2024 below.
Frances mostly paints the coasts of north-east Scotland, the far north-west Highlands and Deeside. She paints mostly in water based and mixed media but occasionally in oils.
Some summers, she takes off to the far north west of Scotland. Intermittent internet, no mobile signal or television so lots of inspiration. Painting even though the weather can be unseasonal with only an occasional glimpse of sun. The views are spectacular even in the murk and she paints quick watercolours between showers to use as the inspiration for paintings back at the studio.
Highlight of the year was getting a mention in the Times Newspaper's review of the VAS exhibition at the RSA Edinburgh in February.
Always a large selection of paintings available straight from the studio by post.
